Rio Grande Valley boys soccer teams have won 6 of the last 8 5A Region IV Tournaments, and the odds are good that either Brownsville Hanna or Brownsville Rivera will continue that trend against San Antonio teams in San Antonio.

Brownsville Rivera's Keila Rodriguez excels at everything she does, whether it's volleyball, basketball, track & field, cross country, or her studies (she's currently senior valedictorian). But it's her running that garnered her a Division I scholarship from Texas State University in San Marcos.

The 2012 District 32-5A cross country champion, Christina Rivera of Brownsville Rivera, signed a scholarship offer to run at University of Incarnate Word. The Cardinals will be a Division I program starting in the fall of 2014.

The Harlingen South Hawks took to the road tonight as they traveled to Sams Stadium in Brownsville for a show-down with Rivera. The Hawks defense scored the games first points and then took over from there as they shut out the Raiders in a 21-0 win.
