Harlingen coach Manny Gomez once again shows that halftime adjustments are the name of the game, as the Cardinals defense stops Harlingen South cold in the 2nd half of Bird Bowl XX, and the Harlingen offense opened up a passing attack that gave the Big Red faithful their 16th win in this rivalry.

Harlingen felt slighted by some South Hawk comments leading up to the rivalry game at Boggus Stadium, and the Cardinals exploded to a big lead thanks to a fumble return, interception, and punt return, all for touchdowns in a 69-7 blowout win in Bird Bowl XIX.
