In 2007, then-La Joya kicker Sergio Castillo set a Rio Grande Valley record by booming a 58-yard field goal in a playoff game against Converse Judson. Next fall the former Coyote will be using his booming right leg on an even bigger stage.

It's been a fantastic couple of months for Castillo at West Texas A&M, first named Lone Star Conference South Division Special Teams Player of the Week after the final game of the season, a 52-21 win over East Central where he accounted for 10 points, a perfect 7-of-7 on PATs and connecting on his only field goal attempt, a 40-yarder.

Then the redshirt freshman, who incidentally has a 3.42 GPA, majoring in Social Studies, was named to the Lone Star Conference South's 1st team offense in the postseason.

And now, Castillo and the WTA&M Buffs have learned they will beplaying this fall at the new Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, taking on none other than A&M-Kingsville on September 17th.

Think there might be some Valley college football fans making the trip for that one?
