LOUISVILLE, KY -- Slowly but surely, the thoughts around the Louisville football program concerning former Los Fresnos star Mario Benavides have been shifting.

From: "Oh, no, how will a redshirt freshman from a school I've never heard of ever replace one of the finest linemen in Cardinals history?"

To:"Hey, this guy has a chance to be a pleasant surprise this year!"

And eventually: "Can you believe we had Eric Wood & Mario Benavides for 8 straight seasons?"
