A Brownsville teen out on bond for marijuana is back behind bars amid a child pornography investigation.
Brownsville police arrested 18-year-old Ricardo Ray Chavira III on Wednesday.
The Brownsville teen is charged with sexual performance of a child and child pornography.
Investigators told Action 4 News that Chavria blackmailed a 16-year-old girl into sending him nude pictures of herself.
Police said the girl sent Chavira clothed pictures of herself but he allegedly asked for nude photos.
The girl sent some nude pictures but Chavira allegedly wanted more.
The 18-year-old allegedly threatened to post the nude pictures he already had of her on his Facebook and Twitter accounts if she didn't comply.
Detectives said the girl kept sending pictures until she finally made an outcry to her mother.
Records show that Chavira lives off Maravillas River Street in north Brownsville.
Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) had previously arrested Chavira back in January.
That’s when he was arrested for possession of marijuana but released after posting bond.
