Authorities are investigating an accident where a pickup truck hit a Mission CISD school bus carrying six children.

It all happened off Trosper Road and Mile 6 North around 6:52 a.m. Tuesday.

Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) state troopers are investigating the accident.

State troopers said a maroon Ford pickup truck was traveling north on Trosper Road when the driver allegedly disregarded a stop sign and sideswiped the front of the bus.

Investigators said six students from Cantu Elementary School and one student from Alton Memorial Middle School were aboard the bus at the time of the accident.

Paramedics examined the students and determined they did not have any injuries but state troopers said the bus driver had a minor cut to his left index finger.

State troopers cited the driver of the pickup truck for running the stop sign.
