A Brownsville man wanted in connection with a sex crime is arrested at the Brownsville/Matamoros International Bridge.

According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers 32 year old Elias Giatan was turned over to them by Mexican police on Friday.

When they ran a background check they discovered he was wanted for continued sexual assault of a child from Brownsville.

CPB officers turned Gaitan over to the Brownsville police department where he is awaiting charges.

Brownsville police would not comment on the case.
