A Rio Bravo man pleads guilty to bribing a U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agent to let he and two other illegal immigrants enter the country without being inspected.

According to the U.S. Attorney Office, 31 year old Jose Luis Huerta-Aguilar first contacted on June 14, 2012, via radio.

Two days later Huerta-Aguilar allegedly met with the officer to exchange the money at the Progreso Port of Entry.

That’s when he was arrested.

Huerta-Aguilar appeared in federal court in McAllen this morning, where he entered his plea before Judge Micaela Alvarez.

Huerta-Aguilar will remain in custody until his sentencing which is set for January 16, 2013.

He faces up to 15 years in prison and a possible $250,000 fine.
