A San Benito man is facing serious charges after a verbal argument turned violent.

San Benito Police arrested Antonio Garcia. 37, on Wednesday.

Early that morning, his common law wife flagged down a police car at the 1700 block of Combes.

She told officers she had been fighting with Garcia, when he punched her in the abdominal area.

Police learned this was not the first time the woman had filed a report against Garcia, and set out to look for him.

They found him at a home at the 300 block of Palo Rosa St. and arrested him.

Police charged Garcia with Continuous Violence against Family, a 3rd degree Felony.

His bond was set at $15,000.
