Roaches at Chinese buffet, dog in kitchen of other dirty diner

China Café on 4713 North 10th Street in McAllen is caught with roaches for the third time since 2008, but it’s a dog discovered at another dirty diner that becomes a first on Food 4 Thought.

The violation at E & B Elotes on 5012 Auburn Avenue near North Taylor Road is considered animal contamination.

There are 35 demerits in all at the eatery that’s small in size.

Kitchen cops find no hairnets, food on the floor, no soap or towels for proper sanitation, flies and a pet dog, according to the report.

The owner’s daughter, Vanessa Sandoval, claims the stray Schnauzer wasn’t in the kitchen.

The county health inspector tells the Food Patrol otherwise.

Sandoval says the dog has since been given away following the initial inspection.

“We solved all the problems already,” she told Action 4’s Ryan Wolf.

But there’s another problem discovered by the Food Patrol.
