A Harlingen man is behind bars after police officers allegedly caught him on a ladder stealing cable TV.
Harlingen police arrested 31-year-old Manuel Garcia late Wednesday afternoon.
Investigators told Action 4 News that an officer was patrolling North B Street when he saw Garcia on a ladder blocking an alleyway.
Garcia allegedly told the officer that he was “fixing the cable” for a home on West Washington Avenue.
The officer double-checked with Time Warner Cable and learned that cable TV service had been set up illegally at the home.
A Time Warner Cable technician disconnected the cable and the officer arrested Garcia.
Jail records show Garcia was booked for outstanding tickets and Class C misdemeanor theft/tampering with multichannel video.
Garcia appeared before a Harlingen municipal judge on Thursday morning where he was fined a total of $2,290.60.
