Rodent droppings in sushi restaurant, dead roaches at popular eatery

It’s not high demerits, but rather rodent droppings and roaches that land two restaurants on the Food Patrol’s naughty list.

Buda’s Sushi and Night Club on 303 North Shary Road scores 6 demerits on a health report.

An inspector turns up rodent droppings in the storage area.

Rodents harbor disease, according to health inspectors.

That can lead to a public health risk.

The Food Patrol didn’t receive an answer from a worker when asked about the rodent problem.

That’s because the staff member said he wasn’t authorized to say anything with his boss still in Reynosa.

The restaurant has not been in contact with the Food Patrol since the visit.

In Pharr, La Mexicana on 709 West Business 83 scores 16 demerits.

There are a number of violations, including dead roaches on the floor, according to a health report.
