A San Benito firefighter was rushed to the hospital after sheetrock from a roof collapsed on him Friday evening.
He was working out in the city’s weight room at fire station #2 off Williams Road.
Sources said he was running on a treadmill when the sheetrock from the roof came caving in, pushing him to the floor and into a wall.
The firefighter was taken to Valley Baptist for a concussion, scrapes and bruises.
San Benito Fire Chief Raul Zuniga said the firefighter was checked out by a city doctor after he was discharged from the hospital.
His name has not been released.
