Starr County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a Saturday afternoon shooting.

A man was shot three times at the intersection of Guerra and Embassy Streets in Los Lomas.

Investigators say an illegal immigrant is the one who pulled the trigger.

After firing the shots, the suspect fled and abandoned his truck at his home a few streets away from the crime scene.

Both his vehicle and home were searched, but he remains at large.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
