Free school supplies will be handed out Friday July 27 as part of a community project for Cameron and Willacy County.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints donated all the supplies to the community projects team.

Bags full of the supplies, just in time for the new school year, will be handed out at the Casa de Amistad in Harlingen.

Several thousand supplies will be given away starting at 9 a.m. and until 4 p.m. or when the supplies run out.

The Cameron and Willacy Counties Community Project members say any child will be given a bag, but they must be accompanied by a parent.
