Authorities are investigating the death of a burglary suspect who fell to his death from the roof of a condo on South Padre Island.

It all happened the 300 block of Padre Boulevard early Tuesday morning.

South Padre Island police said 31-year-old Robert Ainsworth was attempting to burglarize the complex.

The Portland, Texas man fell off the top of the building.

Officers arrested Ainsworth’s alleged accomplice 32-year-old Jason Elliot at the scene.
