One person was killed Saturday morning in a motorcycle crash in rural Willacy County.

It happened just before 9 a.m. on Highway 186 east of FM 3142 near San Perlita.

Department of Public Safety spokesperson, Trooper Johnny Hernandez, identified the person killed as Phillip Bennack, 54, of Lyford.

He said the motorcycle was traveling west on Highway 186 when Bennack “failed to negotiate a right hand curve and went off the roadway.”
