Car theft suspect caught after chase with Edinburg police

Edinburg police believe they may have caught two car thieves red-handed.

Officers responded the 2100 block of West Ascot in Edinburg in the Los Loges subdivision late Wednesday morning.

According to officers, the driver lead police on a chase with a dark-colored Pontiac crashed into a fence off Nolana Avenue and Raul Longoria Road.

The two men inside the car took off running.

Officers quickly caught the driver but they say the passenger got away.

A K-9 officer was called in and located the passenger hiding in a tool shed.

Police say the car was hot-wired.

Both men are facing auto theft charges.
