An El Ranchito pastor, who hired a hit man to kill his wife, was formally sentenced to 45 years in prison.

On Tuesday Julio Cesar Perez plead guilty to hiring several men to murder his wife, Sonia Perez, last year.

Had the case gone to trial, Perez could have received the death penalty.

Along with the plea deal, Perez waived his right to an appeal.

Five others involved in the murder plot are also serving prison time.

Triggerman Daniel Flores Lopez got life in prison while middleman Gabriel Apolinar Escalante got 30 years in prison.
