A Brownsville man, who was shot in the stomach, is not telling police what happened Friday night.

The man told his wife earlier that evening that he was going to Matamoros.

His wife heard a scream around 3:30 a.m. from outside their home where she saw that he had been shot in the stomach.

The woman rushed him to the hospital and Brownsville police were contacted by hospital employees about the incident.

Police asked the man questions but he refused to cooperate and answer any of their questions.

The case is currently under investigation.
