Brownsville Independent School District responded to the protest held by the district’s bus drivers.

The protests were being held outside the BISD administrative building on Tuesday morning.

The school district said that the transportation employees have been asked to share their concerns with the department administrator but it is important that they share those concerns following the same process as all district employees.

The Transportation Department administrator’s are then responsible to resolve the issues or forward them to their supervisor.

BISD bus drivers are being told they will have 32 hours of employment per week, free health coverage benefits, and opportunities to earn additional pay for student trips.

They are also being assured that they will receive paid days for vacations, illness and holidays.
