The water service is back on at La Feria High School aftera pipe broke in the gym.

La Feria ISD officials told Action 4 News that they had a water break coming from the high school boys athletics area.

An old pipe was corroded and burst at about 9 a.m. Thursday.

District called in plumbing company and turned off water throughout the high school for about 30 minutes.

Officials said they announced the water shut-off before it happened and gave students and staff chance to go to restroom if they needed.

School officials are already looking to add more cut-off points throughout the plumbing system, so if this happens in the future, the water will only be turned off in the problem area.
