Authorities are reporting that standoff near two schools in Southmost area of Brownsville has ended peacefully.

It all happened on the 3000 block of La Posada Drive around 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Investigators said the incident started when police tried to arrest 17-yeard-old Adrian for an outstanding juvenile crime warrant.

Police said the juvenile ended up with a .380-caliber gun in his hands.

Lara was involved in a standoff with police at a canal off La Posada Drive.

The crime scene is located near Besteiro Middle School and Aiken Elementary School.

Both school were put on lockdown during the standoff.

Brownsville police said the incident ended peacefully around 4 p.m. Wednesday.
