An elderly man died during one of two motorcycle accidents that happened in Weslaco during Wednesday morning rush hour traffic.

It all started with a motorcycle accident on the 2000 block of the eastbound lanes of Expressway 83 around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Invesetigators told Action 4 News that A 53-year-old man was injured after being hit by a car.

Police said an SUV hit an 82-year-old man on a motorcycle while traffic was backing up from the first accident.

The elderly man was wearing a helmet but died from head injuries.

The two accidents tied up morning traffic on the eastbound lanes of Expressway 83 while authorities cleared the scene.
