A driver is under arrest after Harlingen Police said he may have crashed head-on into an SUV.

Police said a family of five was sent to the hospital as a result.

It happened before 7:00 p.m. Saturday on the Old Business 83 near Lewis Lane.

Police said the driver of a black truck was headed westbound.

They said they believe the truck crashed into the SUV carrying the family.

Police said the family's injuries did not appear to be critical.

Police are investigating whether alcohol played a role in the accident.
