At a special board meeting held tonight, Brownsville Independent School District trustees unanimously named Dr. Carl A. Montoya as superintendent.

The vote ends weeks of speculation that Montoya would take the position.

Montoya served as interim superintendent shortly after Brett Springston resigned back in June.
