A parent accused of assaulting a Harlingen pee wee football player is set to face a judge November 29th, according to Harlingen Police.

Michael Mull reportedly grabbed the face mask of a seven-year-old player, yelling at him during a practice on November 1.

Mull told Action 4 News he did it after he saw the player trip his own son multiple times.

Mull is also an assistant football coach at San Benito High School.

San Benito CISD said in a statement to Action 4 News they are aware of the incident.

The school district said officials addressed the incident in question.

They said because this is a personnel issue, the school district could not release any details as to what actions were taken against the employee.

According to police, Mull received a citation for Class C misdemeanor assault.
