One of the Valley’s smallest communities now has the highest ratio of dirty diners at 100 percent.
That’s because the R2 Country Store is apparently the only place that sells food to the general public.
The low performer scored 31 demerits on a health inspection report.
Willacy County is under the supervision of the Texas Department of State Health Services Regulatory Services.
The state just recently released the inspection reports in Willacy County for the months of March – October 2011.
R2 County Store was the only dirty diner listed in that time period.
San Perlita is a city with a population listed as 512.
Word spread quickly in the community when the Food Patrol arrived to question the dirty diner.
“What can we do,” one man said.
“There’s no where else to go.”
