Snapped Edinburg power pole causes power outages

An early morning accident in Edinburg resulted in a power pole being snapped in half, according to the Edinburg Fire Department.

A car reportedly rolled over and caused the damage to the pole.

No one was reported hurt.

The accident reportedly happened around 2:00 a.m. on Sprague Street and East of Sugar Road.

AEP Texas reported 122 customers without power in Hidalgo County at 2:27 p.m. Sunday.

Later, around 6:00 a.m. Sunday, the Edinburg Fire Department said they responded to another accident on University Drive and West of Sugar Road.

Two cars were said to be involved, and no one was reported injured.

Multiple fire trucks went to the scene, because the accident reportedly happened in between two Edinburg fire stations.

Both stations reportedly responded.
