The thieves struck a Harlingen sporting goods store not once, but twice.

Police said the burglaries left the owner of Bill Guthries Sports in Harlingen with more than $10,000 dollars in losses.

According to the store manager, the theives first struck last Monday.

The culprits used a knife and tools to break in and managed to walk away with an entire air conditioning unit including the compressor.

Workers who print T-shirts noticed the heat first and walked out to find one of three units gone.

On Thursday morning, the same thing happened again.

The owner noticed a second unit was now missing even after a few security measures were put in place.

It’s estimated that it will cost about $5,000 to $6,000 dollars to replace each unit A/C unit.

The owners told Action 4 News they want the community to know and to take precautions.
