Brownsville shooting leaves bar owner in hospital

A Tuesday night shooting in Brownsville leaves a local bar owner in the hospital.
Brownsville police told Action 4 News a shootout happened between two vehicles on Old Port Isabel Road and Coffee Road around 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Investigators told Action 4 News that 39-year-old Eleuterio Gonzalez was behind the wheel of his 2010 Chevrolet Silverado when it all happened.
Police said two men pulled up along side Gonzalez in a maroon or burgundy car and shot him several times.
A motive is not clear but Gonzalez sustained several gunshot wounds during the shooting.
Paramedics rushed him to the Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville where he's listed in stable condition.
Police closed off part of the road on Tuesday night to search for the suspects who remain unidentified and at large.
Public records show that 64-year-old Eleuterio Gonzalez, Sr. is the owner of Vertigo Night Club off FM 802.
