South Padre Island Police are investigating after a driver hit a bicyclist Saturday afternoon.

It happened on the corner of Padre Boulevard and West Esperanza.

According to police, the bicyclist was flown to the hospital for his injuries but is expected to be alright.

At this point, police say the driver is not facing charges, because it appears he followed all traffic rules.

Police say he had not been drinking.
