A sting operation targeting prostitution in and around Harlingen's "La Plazita" district ended with two arrests on Tuesday night.

Harlingen police told Action 4 News that the undercover operation took place on the 300 block of West Van Buren Avenue on Tuesday night.

Investigators told Action 4 News that 33-year-old Edelmiro Garcia and 35-year-old Lisa Ann Taylor offered an undercover officer sexual services for cash.

Both Garcia and Taylor spent the night in the Harlingen City Jail.

They both faced a Harlingen municipal judge on Wendesday morning where they were both issued $500 dollar bonds.

Harlingen's La Plazita District is a known area for drug addicts and prostitution.

Police last performed a prostitution sting operation in May when two other suspect prostitutes were arrested.
