A recount for Congressman Solomon Ortiz hit a snag on Wednesday.

The Texas Secretary of State Hope Andrade said his request for a recount was not correct and the deposit filed to cover expenses was not sufficient.

Andrade wrote in her letter that Ortiz needs to deposit $23,500 dollars to finance a recount for the entire district.

Ortiz's camp said, "The Ortiz for Congress Committee will provide that information and are confident the recount will move forward."

A spokesperson for Blake Farenthold,  the man elected to the District 27 congressional seat, wrote in a statement, "Mr. Ortiz didn't get enough votes on election day and he didn't give them enough money for a recount. It seems he just keeps coming up short."
