Streets of Speed - Speeders Warned to Watch What They Say

Just because a driver is pulled over for a traffic violation doesn’t necessarily mean a citation is on the way.

Officer Rodney Guerra with the Alamo Police Department said he would rather issue a warning for most infractions and send motorists on their way.

However, tickets continue to mount each day on Valley roadways.

The reason?

“A lack of respect,” said Officer Guerra.

More times than not, he pointed to drivers who chose to wage verbal war rather than politely answer the questions asked during a traffic stop.

"They're trying to get themselves out of a situation and it's not going to work," Officer Guerra said.

So what shouldn’t speeders say after being pulled over by a police officer?
