More rain is expected across the Valley all week.
Cameron County received six to nine inches over the weekend.
More rain could mean more flooding.
In anticipation of the wet weather, Cameron County Judge Carlos Cascos is encouraging residents who live in low-lying areas to consider seeking shelter.
“With the current flood watch being extended due to the persistence of torrential rains associated with upper level disturbances, we expect there may be areas that may experience problems with flooding, especially those areas where significant rainfall has already accumulated over the weekend,” said Judge Cascos. “For those who have experienced flooding problems, it is critical that plans be made to seek shelter if necessary.”
Below is the shelter location:
Los Fresnos Boys & Girls Club located at 900 N. Arroyo Blvd. (FM 1847) in Los Fresnos across from Los Fresnos High School
County leaders also want to remind those heading to the shelter to take items such as their identification card, any medication needed, water, non-perishable food, blankets and pillows.
