Food 4 Thought - Weslaco bakery goes into lockdown
Posted: 09.15.2010 at 10:53 PM

One look at the Food Patrol was all it took for a bakery in Weslaco to lock its doors early.

Weslaco Bakery on 3022 E. Business Highway 83 scored 35 demerits on a health inspection report.

The Food Patrol arrived Wednesday afternoon to question management about cross contamination violations and roaches in the kitchen.

The questions though were never asked.

That’s because a worker scrambled to the door and locked it before the Food Patrol could get inside.

A neon open sign remained on and the hours of operation read until 7 pm.

One customer sat in his car with a frustrated look on his face.
