Harlingen police are investigating a Friday afternoon accident where a driver went the wrong way on an exit ramp on the expressway.

The accident happned at the Dixieland Road exit for the eastbound lanes of U.S. Expessway 83 shortly after 3 p.m. Friday.

A dark gray truck appeared to have been driving the wrong way on the frontage road and went the wrong way by trying to enter the experssway through the exit ramp.

Detail were not immediately available but authorities estimate that one vehicle was going at least 55mph and other was going 40 mph.

Injuries were reported with at least one man involved in the wreck being transported to the hospital. His condition is not known.
