The tropical wave in the Caribbean Sea is getting better organized than it was on Tuesday.
This system is expected to end up near Florida but it will be influencing weather patterns over the Rio Grande Valley.
Located near the Bahamas Wednesday morning, it continues to head west-northwest.
The National Hurricane Center has upgraded its chance of developing into a tropical depression over the next couple of days, to a high 60 percent.
Heavy rainfall and strong winds are expected over the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico on Wednesday.
Tropical moisture from the Caribbean will bring more rain to the valley with heavy showers and thunderstorms possible through the week.
Isolated areas could get a few more inches, adding to already flooded spots.
