Tropical Storm Alex continues to inch further across the Gulf of Mexico.

The National Weather Service is predicting Alex could strengthen to a Hurricane and make landfall just south of the Rio Grande Valley by Thursday.

The window of opportunity for showers and thunderstorms will remain open through the week for deep South Texas.

Heavy rainfall, flash flooding, and strong winds are all possible as Alex nears the area.
