A Florida trucker is behind bars in the Rio Grande Valley for allegedly failed to register as a sex offender after he moved to the Weslaco area.

Hidalgo County Sheriff's Offfice deputies arrested Edward Lewis Snow under a failure to register as a offender charge.

Snow is expected to be arraigned at the Hidalgo County Jail at 3:30 p.m. today.

Investigators told Action 4 News that Snow works as a trucker and was convicted in a child molestation case in Florida.

Deputies said Snow moved to 7216 Fox Street in Weslaco around May 26th but failed to register as a sex offender.

Under Texas state law, sex offenders are required to register at a new address no later than seven days after moving there.

Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Treviño told Action 4 News that deputies have a 'no-holds bar' attitude when it comes to sex offenders.

"In the Snow case, we have enlisted the assistance of the FBI," Treviño said.  "Snow is a truck driver that has traveled the country.  We want to make sure that he has not left a trial of victims along the way.”
