SAN ANTONIO (AP) -- A convicted burglar has escaped from a San Antonio prison one day after he began serving his sentence.

Authorities are searching for Joshua Aguilera after the 18-year-old escaped Thursday from the Dominguez State Jail in San Antonio.

According to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Aguilera had arrived Wednesday at the jail, where he was to serve a sentence of nearly two years for two counts of burglary in Hidalgo County.

Authorities listed Aguilera as 5-foot-3 and weighing 120 pounds.

Action 4 News has learned through public records that Aguilera's last known address was listed as 1916 Datiles in a rural area just north of Donna.
