WASHINGTON (AP) -- Immigration and border security were the key topics of discussion at a Wednesday morning press conference with Presidents Barack Obama and Felipe Calderon.

President Obama said at the press conference that he wants to pass comprehensive immigration legislative reform.

No timetable was mentioned but Obama said he needs support of Republicans to get it through Congress.

Obama said he favors tightening border security and cracking down on businesses that hire illegal immigrants while offering a pathway to citizenship for some.

The president noted that he doesn't have the 60 votes he needs in the Senate and will be reaching out to Republicans to accomplish his goal.

Obama said many Americans are frustrated with the "broken immigration system" in the United States.

The president said U.S. Department of Justice is looking closely at controversial anti-illegal immigration bill in Arizona.

"The Arizona law expresses some of the frustration the American people have with our broken immigration system," he said.

Obama said the Department of Justice report on the Arizona law is expected to be completed soon.

Mexican President Felipe Calderon said both nations want a secure border as well as stop the flow of illegal drugs, weapons and cash.

Obama said the United States is looking at ways to stem the American demand for drugs through law enforcement, drug treatment and prevention.
