Direct flights to Chicago are coming soon to the Rio Grande Valley.

Starting August 15th, Southwest Airlines will offer a flight between Harlingen and Chicago's Midway Airport.

The flight will have one stop but no plane change in Houston. 

Southwest Airlines flight 2796 will depart Harlingen at 10 a.m. and arrive at Chicago/Midway at 2 p.m.

Southwest Airlines flight 1089 will depart Chicago/Midway at 2:30 p.m. and arrive in Harlingen at 6:40 p.m.

The flight operates daily except Saturdays and stops briefly in Houston.
