A 17-year-old gang member is expected to face a judge after being arrested for his allegedly role in a drive-by shooting in Lopezville.
Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Mark Anthony Arce on aggravated assault charges on Monday.
Investigators said the Hidalgo County SWAT team executed a search warrant at Arce’s home at 3618 Citation Drive in Edinburg on Monday.
Deputies believe that Arce was one of four people involved in a drive-by shooting.
The alleged target of the drive-by shooting was Jose R. “Killer” Garcia.
Garcia was wounded but both he and his wife survived the attack.
Authorities said Garcia was a former Tri-City Bomber leader but now leads the Brown Pride gang.
Arce and the others in the car are alleged members of the rival Chicano gang.
The 17-year-old suspect is expected to be arraigned before Hidalgo County Justice of the Peace Rosa Treviño at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
