Action 4 News has posted RAW VIDEO of a Coast Guard rescue of the captain of a fishing vessel near Galveston.

Coast Guard crews responded to a report of a fishing vessel that was taking on water near Galveston and whose captain required medical assistance around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Crews from Coast Guard Air Station Houston and Station Galveston responded to a report from the captain of the fishing vessel Lucky Lady.

The captain called for medical assistance after he partially severed his finger.

During his distress call, the captain also reported that his vessel had begun taking on water.

Crews from an HH-65c Dolphin Helicopter and a Coast Guard 47-foot Motor Life Boat delivered pumps to assist in dewatering efforts, and an EMT from the MLB assisted the captain.

The Lucky Lady made it back to the Galveston Yacht Basin under it's own power and is currently being dewatered.

The boat's captain was transferred to the custody of local EMS.
