WESLACO, TEXAS -- Weslaco police have now identified a body found Thursday afternoon in a woman's backyard.
The homeowner made the gruesome discovery in the 1600 block of Woodland around 1:40 p.m.
Friday, Weslaco police identified the man as 28-year-old Pete Vela of Weslaco.
Vela lived just three blocks away from where his body was discovered.
He was wearing only blue shorts.
Investigators are not treating this case as a homicide because there were no signs of trauma on Vela's body.
However, authorities have ordered an autopsy to determine how he died.
The autopsy results should be back in the next two weeks.
