The city of Edinburg hosted a Juneteenth celebration on Saturday at the Restlawn Cemetery.

Juneteenth is normally celebrated on June 19th.
 
It celebrates the day that slaves in America were freed.
 
The NAACP hosted a reception after the ceremony at Restlawn.
 
The Restlawn Cemetery was one of the first in Hidalgo County that allowed African Americans to be buried there.
