HARLINGEN, TEXAS -- New jobs are headed to the City of Harlingen.

United Health Care has announced plans to open a 55,000 square foot call center.

The $6 million center is expected to employ anywhere from 100 to 150 employees at first.

Then, the company could hire an additional 600 people over the next three to five years.

"Since the beginning of the year, we have identified about 1,800 jobs being brought to the city from various companies, and now we have united healthcare," said Harlingen mayor Chris Boswell.

The center is expected to open in October of 2010.
