Many people in the Rio Grande Valley are waking up this morning with an inauguration fever hangover.

There were watch-parties throughout the Valley yesterday.

Viewers were glued to their TV's to watch history unfold.

Most people we spoke with said that they are excited about the energy surrounding Obama's presidency.

While, others said they thought the day would never come.

"I grew up in the deep south, and I lived with segregation.  I was in Anniston, Alabama when the freedom writers bus got burned.  Even though I was a little kid, I was aware of how things were.  To see this day come is just something you'd never expect if you grew up in that enviorment," Dr. John Cook said.
